PRO OF THE MONTH
Zenda Griebenow

Director of Adult Programming James Creek Tennis Center
Zenda Griebenow, a native of South Africa, has been teaching tennis for 12 years. She is passionate about the game and enjoys working with players of all ages and abilities. She specializes in technical and psychological development. In doing so she gives players a solid fundamental foundation around which to build their game. Zenda is a people person; she is serious about her work, enthusiastic about new initiatives, realistic about goals and overjoyed with the successes of her students. Zenda strives to help each student become the best they can be both on and off the court.
Zenda's coaching experience includes: graduate assistant coach at University of Alabama at Birmingham, Peachtree Station Swim & Tennis Club and Racquet Club of the South.
Zenda's achievements and continuing education include: United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) P-1; United States Professional Tennis Registry; USTA High Performance Certification; USPTA Little Tennis Specialist; USTA Tournament Referee; Coach and Administrator for USTA Competition Training Center. She has been a Special Populations Coach and received the following awards: USPTA Rookie of the Year (1996); USPTA Assistant Pro of the Year (1997); USPTA High Education Award (2003). She has also received her Black belt in taekwondo.
She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she played 4 years of tennis and a year of golf. She earned individual conference titles in singles and doubles as well as being a member of the first ever conference championship team for the UAB women's tennis program. Upon graduation she earned a Bachelors Degree in sports and child psychology.
Of all the things Zenda has accomplished, reaching the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world, with her mother, has been the most rewarding. This bears testimony to her athletic and adventurous spirit as well as her determination to see things through to completion.

Winter is finally upon us, Adult the leagues are ending and what are you going to do with your tennis racket? Don't let it go unused until February, play combo. Leagues are for all of us who want to keep our selves fit and active.
Start your own combo team and join our NEGTA leagues. Levels 5.5,6.5, 7.5 & 8.5 for the day women, 5.5,6.5,7.5 & 8.5 for the business women and the men are not left out either we have 6.5, 7.5 & 8.5 for you.
Cost is only $5.00 + tennis link fee of $3.00. Combo plays 3 lines of doubles and the best news is that your scores will not be added into your NTRP. So no worry about your rating going up.
Deadline to establish a team is November 14, 2008 with leagues starting the next week, no play during the holidays either. Won't you join us?
